Private tour

Tour packageKarnataka

Mysore sits around 140km from Bengaluru, roughly three hours by road, making it a comfortable single-day trip built around the ornate Mysore Palace and, time permitting, Chamundi Hill's temple and views over the city. It is one of the more relaxed day trips on this list, with good roads and a genuinely worthwhile destination at the end.

Full description

Mysore Palace, the former seat of the Wadiyar dynasty, is one of India's most visited monuments outside the Taj Mahal — an elaborately decorated Indo-Saracenic building, especially striking when illuminated in the evening on the days it is lit. Chamundi Hill, overlooking the city, adds a temple and a viewpoint if your schedule stretches to it.

The drive from Bengaluru is on reasonably good roads, making this one of the more comfortable day trips in the country.
