About Mysore

Mysore was the seat of the Wadiyar royal dynasty, and its palace, rebuilt in its current Indo-Saracenic form in the early 20th century, remains one of India's grandest, especially when illuminated with thousands of lights on Sunday evenings and during festivals. The city is also famous for its Dussehra celebrations, among the largest in South India, and for Mysore silk and sandalwood.
