There are two long drives. Jaipur to Jodhpur is about five and a half hours covering 335km, with a lunch stop near Ajmer. Jodhpur to Udaipur is about six hours covering 250km, including ninety minutes at the Ranakpur Jain temple. Everything else is local sightseeing under an hour.

When is the best time to do this Rajasthan tour?

October to March is best, when daytime temperatures sit between 20°C and 28°C and the forts are comfortable to walk. April to June is very hot, often above 40°C, and July to September brings intermittent rain that can slow the Jodhpur to Udaipur road.
