Himachal Hills Tour — 7 days

This seven-day Himachal Pradesh itinerary links Shimla's Mall Road and colonial architecture, three nights in the Kullu-Manali valley for mountains and orchards, and a finish in Dharamshala's Tibetan quarter below the Dhauladhar range. It is a road-heavy itinerary through genuinely mountainous terrain, so days are planned around drive time rather than against it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a fixed, published itinerary?

It is a sensible starting plan for the classic Shimla–Manali–Dharamshala route, not yet drawn from a published Himachal route guide on this site. We confirm and adjust the exact pace with you before booking.

Does this trip go all the way to Rohtang Pass or Spiti?

Not by default — Rohtang is an optional day trip from Manali, weather and permits allowing. A separate, longer itinerary would be needed for Spiti Valley.

What is the best time to visit Himachal's hill stations?

Broadly March to June for warm days and cool nights, and September to November after the monsoon clears. December to February brings snow to Manali and above, which some travellers want and others should plan around.

Is the drive from Shimla to Manali difficult?

It is long — around seven to eight hours — on mountain roads with switchbacks. Comfortable for most travellers but worth knowing if you are prone to motion sickness.
