Ranthambore in Rajasthan is one of India's best-known tiger reserves and the easiest of the major parks to combine with a Jaipur, Agra or Delhi itinerary. Its dry deciduous forest wraps around a scatter of lakes, and the ruined Ranthambore Fort — a thousand-year-old hilltop stronghold with temples and gateways — still stands inside the park boundary, giving many drives a real sense of place beyond the wildlife.

It became one of India's original Project Tiger reserves and remains among the country's most visited, largely because it sits within easy reach of the Golden Triangle. Alongside Bengal tigers, the reserve holds leopard, sloth bear, sambar, chital, nilgai and a wide range of birds.

An honest word on expectations: if a serious, tiger-focused trip is your single priority and you have time to travel deeper, parks like Bandhavgarh or Kanha are generally regarded as denser. The standard package includes an Elegant Room on double occupancy; upgrades can be arranged subject to availability. The exact room category is confirmed against your travel dates before booking.

The standard package includes 2 private Gypsy safaris — right for a short luxury wildlife escape. If wildlife is the main purpose of your trip, most travellers do better with 3 or 4 drives, which give more chances across different zones and conditions. We offer the 2-safari itinerary as a starting point, not a claim that two drives are ideal for everyone. Ask us to quote a 3- or 4-safari version — additional drives are subject to permit availability and priced separately.

Is a tiger sighting guaranteed? No. Tigers are wild, and their movements can't be predicted — sightings depend on wildlife and prey movement, weather, temperature, water, vegetation, time of day and season. We arrange your safari properly, but we will never promise a sighting, and we do not publish an Experience My India sighting percentage unless it is backed by a large, verifiable internal dataset.

Can you guarantee a safari zone? No. Ranthambore is split into numbered zones and your permit is valid for one zone on one drive; allocation runs through the Forest Department's system. Anyone promising you a specific zone is overselling. Your confirmed details reflect the allocation available for your date.

Yes — this can be arranged on a single-occupancy basis. The $750 starting price assumes two adults sharing, so solo travellers receive an individual quotation based on the applicable room, transport and safari costs. Ask us for a solo quote.

Yes. Family itineraries depend on the number and ages of children, room configuration and safari rules for the party; AamaGhati offers family-friendly accommodation. Please give the children's ages when you enquire so we quote the correct configuration. Child rates and extra beds follow the hotel's applicable terms.
