Expect simpler amenities than a hotel — a homestay's value is the welcome and the meal, not five-star comfort.
A small gift for your hosts (sweets, something from home) is appreciated but not required.

Rather than a hotel, you spend a night (or a few) inside a family's own home, sharing a home-cooked meal and everyday conversation, often getting a genuine look at rural or small-town life — a working farm, a tea estate, a craft trade — that no hotel stay offers. It is one of the experiences our own founder's team singles out as underrated: a night in a family homestay over one more hotel.
