Dalhousie, named after a former British governor-general, is a colonial-era hill station spread across five hills in Himachal Pradesh, generally quieter and less commercial than Shimla or Manali. Pine-forested walks, colonial-era churches and views toward the Dhauladhar range are the main draw, along with the nearby meadow of Khajjiar, sometimes called Mini Switzerland.

5/52 months agoOur guide's local contacts opened doors we did not know existed — a block-printing workshop, a temple kitchen at prasad time. The itinerary on paper was good; the day itself was far better.
