Rann of Kutch Travel Guide
The Rann of Kutch, in Gujarat, is a vast white salt desert that dries out each winter into a walkable, almost lunar landscape, best seen around the full moon during the Rann Utsav festival. November to February is the season.

The Rann of Kutch is one of the world's largest salt deserts, flooding with the monsoon and drying by winter into a vast white expanse that stretches to the horizon, especially striking under a full moon. Around it, the Kutch region's villages are known for embroidery, block printing and other crafts, adding a cultural layer to the landscape itself.
Each winter, Gujarat Tourism sets up a tented festival, the Rann Utsav, on the edge of the white desert, with cultural performances, craft stalls and organised access to the salt flats. It is the easiest and most established way to experience the Rann, running roughly across the winter season on dates confirmed each year.
