Ten to twelve days is the comfortable range for a first Rajasthan trip that links Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur without spending every day in the car. This twelve-day version runs the classic loop off the Golden Triangle, adding a slower night in Pushkar and a proper night in the Thar Desert outside Jaisalmer, rather than treating the desert as a drive-through stop.
Is twelve days too long for Rajasthan?
Not for the full loop. Ten to twelve days is the range that comfortably links Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur; shorter trips usually drop one city rather than rushing all four.
How long is the drive to Jaisalmer, and is it worth it?
Jodhpur to Jaisalmer is about five to six hours through increasingly open desert country. Most travellers find the fort, the havelis and a night in the dunes worth the distance; if not, our six-day Royal Rajasthan Circuit skips Jaisalmer.
Can Ranthambore be added for a tiger safari?
Yes, typically added between Jaipur and the rest of the loop, extending the trip to around fourteen days. Ask and we will re-quote.
Is the desert camp comfortable, or very basic?
