India Visa for Canadian Citizens: 2026 Fees, Requirements, and How to Apply
Canadian citizens need a visa to visit India, and for tourism the simplest is the India e-Tourist Visa, applied for online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. The 30-day costs US$25, the 1-year US$40, and the 5-year the standard US$80; there is no visa on arrival for Canadian passport holders.
indianvisaonline.gov.in is the only official India e-Visa site. Lookalike sites file the same application and charge two to five times the government fee. If a site is not indianvisaonline.gov.in, do not pay it.
We take nothing for the visa. It is the government's form, and it is yours to file.

Standard rates — with one figure worth checking
Canadian citizens pay the standard rates, including US$80 for the 5-year. A few listings note Canada-specific differences, so confirm the current figure on the official portal before you pay.
Confirm your fee on the portalRules that apply to all three
- All e-Tourist Visas are non-extendable and non-convertible.
- The 1-year and 5-year allow up to 180 days of stay per year.
- A 2.5–3% card charge applies and is non-refundable even if you are refused.
How firm are these figures?
Every fee on this page comes from the 2026 Government of India listings, but they are not all equally settled — and you deserve to know which is which before you pay a non-refundable charge. Two of the three are not in dispute. One is worth thirty seconds on the portal.
30-day
US$25
Not in dispute
US$25 from July to March and US$10 from April to June — the seasonal rate almost every e-Visa eligible nationality pays. No Canadian variation is reported anywhere.
1-year
US$40
Not in dispute
A flat rate, identical across nearly every nationality on the e-Visa list. This is the one most Canadian tourists should actually buy.
5-year
US$80
Confirm before you pay
US$80 is the standard rate and what a Canadian passport should pay. A few listings note Canada-specific differences, so this is the figure to check on the portal — it shows your exact amount before you commit.

We would rather flag one uncertain number than let you find it at the payment screen. The portal shows your exact fee before you pay, and the card charge is not refunded if something goes wrong.
